Independent MHA-elect Paul Lane only candidate nominated for Speaker of the House
Independent MHA-elect Paul Lane is the only candidate in the running to be the next Speaker of the House of Assembly. The Speaker will be formally elected on Monday. Once Lane is confirmed, and if all seats subject to recounts remain the same, that would effectively increase the Tory majority by one.
