Driver flees scene of overnight collision
The driver of a car involved in an overnight collision reportedly fled the scene on foot.
The incident happened shortly after midnight, on Thursday morning, at the intersection of Allandale Road and Mount Scio Road. A sedan and pickup truck collided, causing the truck to also strike a traffic light pole. Damage to both vehicles was significant.
There were no serious injuries reported to either occupant of the pickup truck. The driver of the sedan is reported to have fled the scene on foot. The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary called on their Police Dog Services to aid in the hunt for that individual, which took them south on Allandale Road.
It was unknown at the time if that search was successful. NTV News will have more information as it becomes available.
