Driver arrested for impaired operation by Bay St George RCMP
A 67-year-old man was arrested for impaired operation by Bay St George RCMP during a traffic stop in Stephenville on Aug. 16.
Around 3:20 a.m. on Saturday, police stopped a vehicle on Prince Rupert Drive in Stephenville. The driver showed signs of impairment and failed the roadside alcohol screening. He was arrested and transported to the detachment where he provided an additional breath sample over the legal limit.
The man’s licence was suspended and the vehicle was seized and impounded. He was released, and in expected to appear in court on Sept. 25.
