The City has announced plans to demolish the former H.G.R. Mews Community Centre building due to its deteriorating condition.

Officials say the City intends to retain ownership of the property and will develop a long-term plan for the site. Once that plan is finalized, it will be shared with the public.

The City is currently in the final stages of selecting a contractor for the demolition project. Once the contract is awarded, officials will release more details, including the construction schedule, expected timeline, and any anticipated impacts on the surrounding area.

Demolition is expected to begin this fall.

City officials are thanking residents for their patience and understanding as the project moves forward.
