Badger issues flood warning as waters rise
The Badger Town Council issued a flood warning Wednesday as an ice jam causes water on the Exploits River to rise.
“Please be advised that the Town of Badger is currently in a Flood Warning and as a result a State of Emergency has been issued,” the council posted on Facebook. “Currently there are no evacuation orders in place. Further information will be communicated to residents as it becomes available regarding the status of the State of Emergency and any evacuation orders if necessary. Please be advised that 24-hour monitoring is currently in effect.”
Throughout the day, water has been steadily rising in areas near the river. Late this afternoon, water was reported on the parking lot of the Badger Stadium.
