Artemis II crew returns safely to Earth

News

The crew of the Artemis II mission returned safely to Earth Friday after an historic and record-breaking voyage around the moon.

The four astronauts, including Canadian Jeremy Hansen, safely exited the Orion capsule after it splashed down in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of the United States. The mission marked the first time humans had orbited the moon since Apollo 17 in 1972.

Further Artemis missions are scheduled in the coming years with the intention of landing humans on the moon.
