17th annual Mummers Parade held in Bowring Park
The 17th annual Mummers Festival took place this weekend in Bowring Park, where hundreds played instruments, danced and sang their way through the park.
Over the past two weeks there have been a series of workshops including an ugly stick class, a lantern-making workshop, and of course a kitchen party, all leading up to the big mummers parade in the park.
Like many Christmas traditions mummering brings together families, friends and strangers alike to create a sense of community. The Mummers Festival and Parade is the biggest celebration of this 300 year old tradition.
