More than 5,000 customers are without power in the St. John’s metro region.

Newfoundland Power says it’s currently experiencing a problem with a piece of equipment at its Kenmount Road Substation. Crews have been able to isolate the problem.

Newfoundland Power plans to have power safely restored to all remaining customers by 2:30 p.m.
