A 37-year-old man is in custody after an assault in Conception Bay South on Sunday afternoon.

The RNC responded to an assault complaint where a taxi driver reported that he had just been assaulted by a customer.

Officers checked the immediate area with the assistance of the K-9 but later found the suspect walking near his home. 

The accused will appear in court to answer to a charge of assault causing bodily harm.
