No serious injuries in collision that almost rolls vehicle
A two-vehicle collision in the centre of St. John’s on Saturday evening caused considerable damage to both vehicles, but no serious injuries to those involved.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Mayor Avenue and Howley Avenue Extension shortly after 6:30 p.m. and arrived to find two vehicles with extensive damage. An SUV and compact car had collided, the force of the collision breifly rolling the car onto its side. That vehicle landed back on its wheels.
The driver of the SUV was reportedly uninjured. The driver of the car as treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Traffic was redirected around the scene for while, until both vehicles could be removed.
