Eight-hour power outage scheduled for St. Catherine’s area to repair wind storm damages
Newfoundland Power is advising customers in areas from St. Catherines through to Cape Race, including customers in Mount Carmel, Harricott, North Harbour, Colinet and St. Shott’s, of an emergency power interruption on Monday, December 29 from approximately 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The utility says the power outage is necessary to repair damages caused by recent windstorms.
In a social media post, the town of St. Mary’s shared that its town hall is open for residents who need a place to go during the outage.
