Driver taken to hospital after crashing into light pole
One person was taken to hospital after their vehicle crashed into a light pole on a busy St. John’s thoroughfare late Sunday morning.
The crash happened shortly before 11:00 a.m. on Prince Philip Drive. A westbound sedan left the roadway and crashed into a concrete light pole. The force of the collision caused significant damage to both the pole and the car. The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be serious.
One lane of the roadway, along with the sidewalk nearby, was closed until crews with Newfoundland Power could arrive to remove the damaged pole.
