Province-wide fire ban now in effect

A fire ban has been declared for the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador in accordance with Section 99 of the Forestry Act due to elevated Fire Weather Index ratings and extensive wildfire activity in Labrador.  The ban is effective immediately until July 17, 2026 for the entire province.  Permits to burn grass, brush or other materials are cancelled and fireworks and sky lanterns are banned.
