On Wednesday the provincial government cancelled plans for a new hospital in the west end of St. John’s. Health Minister Lela Evans says the hospital, which was put forward by the former Liberal government, would have cost more than the entire provincial budget and was out of touch with the needs of the healthcare system.

It’s been almost 10 months since Stephenville airport closed it’s doors after unpaid bills mounted. Now, a different company is the primary holder of the airport’s mortgage, and they are asking for it to be put in receivership.
