UPDATE: N.L. Hydro lifts Power Warning as conditions improve ‘significantly’
Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro released a statement Sunday evening, saying conditions have improved significantly and the Power Warning has now been lifted.
“Six units at Bay d’Espoir are now fully back in service, marking an important step forward,” the utility said. “This progress reflects the tremendous effort and coordination across teams over the weekend.
“While the situation has stabilized, very cold temperatures remain, and we will keep a Power Watch in place as a precaution. This ensures we can keep customers informed and respond quickly should conditions change. NO ACTION is required from customers at this time.”
NTV’s Beth Penney reports on events from earlier Sunday.
