Mount Pearl man arrested after two women assaulted with bear spray
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) arrested a male on assault charges in Mount Pearl.
On Sunday (Aug. 16), RNC Operational Patrol Services responded to a report of an assault at a home on Jeffers Drive in Mount Pearl. Responding officers located two females who had been assaulted with bear spray. The man responsible, who was known to the women, had fled the area prior to police arrival. The women did not require medial attention.
Officers located the 19-year-old male in the backyard of the home. He fled on foot and after a brief chase, officers arrested and charged him with assault, two counts of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, violence against an intimate partner, possession of a prohibited weapon, breaches of a release order and breach of probation.
