Rain and fog brushing past much of Newfoundland Tuesday

Heavier rain for Eastern Newfoundland, while showers reach majority of island Tuesday
The first thing you’ll likely notice in Eastern Newfoundland Tuesday is a cooler day, mixed with an increased east wind. That wind is limiting the highs to the teens and ensuring a lingering fog with the lack of sun.
To complete the RDF trifecta, a light rain starts the day nice and early, with a heavier rain passing over the Avalon Peninsula into the afternoon hours.
In all, there is a 5-25 mm range. The highest totals are likely to be found around the Connairgre Peninsula and the south-side of the Avalon. Metro should expect closer to the 10 mm mark, while Central has passing light on again off again showers in the afternoon and evening bringing 1-5 mm.
Meanwhile parts of the southwest coast, west coast and the western side of the Northern Peninsula look to bypass the rain and even enjoy some sunny breaks. The eastern side of the Northern Peninsula, however, is looking to experience the same fog as the eastern side of the island.

Mainly dry across Labrador Tuesday, light rain touching west and north
From Happy Valley-Goose Bay to the mid and south coast of Labrador, sun shines through Tuesday, with temperatures getting back to the high 20’s.
Labrador West starts the day with some final drop of a light rain from the overnight, while Nain welcomes 2-4 mm near the noon hour.
The light rain returns to both Labrador West and the North Coast after the supper hour, which is when a south wind in Nain specifically turns north, dropping the temperature by about 10 degrees.
