Collision at notorious intersection sends two people to hospital Thursday evening
A collision at one of the most dangerous intersections in St. John’s sent two people to hospital on Thursday evening.
Shortly before 8:00 emergency personnel were called to the intersection of Thorburn Road and Goldstone Street following a two-vehicle collision. Witnesses said a vehicle was struck on its side after turning in front of another. The crash caused extensive damage to both vehicles. Firefighters had to cut the passenger door off one car to assist one of the occupants out. Both people in that vehicle were taken to hospital with what were believed to be minor injuries.
Neither person in the second vehicle required medical attention. Traffic was slowed in the area for a while until the damaged cars could be removed.
