East Coast Trail Association’s TrailRaiser 2026 raises nearly $220,000 in record-breaking campaign

The East Coast Trail Association (ECTA) says its annual TrailRaiser fundraising campaign has delivered record-breaking results in 2026: raising nearly $220,000 in total campaign impact.

The campaign, which culminated with a Community Hike and Trail Race on International Trails Day, June 6th in Mobile, raised over $120,000 through its peer-to-peer fundraising platform. A record-breaking 50/50 draw closed at $94,290 — shattering last year’s record of $68,635 — and an anonymous donation of $50,000 provided a remarkable and unexpected boost to the campaign’s final total.

“This result reflects the deep connection this community has with the East Coast Trail,” says Randy Murphy, President & CEO of the East Coast Trail Association. “Nearly $220,000 is a transformational result for a charitable organization of our size, and it speaks to the trust our donors and supporters place in this trail and in ECTA’s work.”

ECTA extends its deepest gratitude to the more than 250 hikers and runners who registered, laced up their footwear, and went the extra mile to fundraise on behalf of the trail — and to the nearly 1,000 donors who answered their call and gave so generously. You are the heart of this campaign. ECTA also wishes to extend a very special and heartfelt thank you to the anonymous donor who’s extraordinary $50,000 gift was a powerful expression of belief in the East Coast Trail and its future.

Lead sponsors ExxonMobil Canada, the Northpine Foundation, and The Outfitters provided essential support that made TrailRaiser 2026 possible. Funds raised will go directly towards the maintenance and stewardship of the Avalon Peninsula’s 336 kilometer iconic coastal trail.
