Air, land & sea travels impacted today island wide

News, Traffic, Travel, Weather

The latest storm to impact the province in the new year is coming in with another slam as high winds, snow, freezing rain and rain are all in the forecast island wide. That has caused a number of flight cancellations at all airports, primarily in central and eastern Newfoundland. St. John’s international airport is showing multiple cancellations in both departures and arrivals as significant wind is expected to impact the island later today. For sea traffic, Marine Atlantic has also issued travel advisories for its passengers, with cancellations from both North Sydney and Port Aux Basques last night and this morning. The Ferry service hopes to resume it’s sailing schedule tonight, at 11:30pm.
