Bell Island RCMP arrests ATV operator for impaired refusal
An ATV operator was charged with failing to comply with a demand as part of an impaired operation investigation after he was stopped by Bell Island RCMP on Thursday.
On Jan. 1, at approximately 2:20 a.m., police observed an ATV travelling along a roadway in Wabana and conducted a traffic stop. The operator – a 61-year-old male – showed signs of impairment and police provided a demand for a breath sample. The man failed to provide a proper sample and was charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand.
The ATV he was operating was seized and impounded, and his driver’s licence was suspended. The operator was released to appear in court at a future date.
