A pedestrian was taken to hospital after being struck by a car on a downtown street Wednesday evening.
Emergency crews responded to the incident, at the bottom of Barter’s Hill near New Gower Street, shortly before 7:45 p.m.. First responders tended to the individual, who was laying in the roadway. They were placed on a stretcher and taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
The driver of the car, which sustained minor damage in the collision, remained on the scene and cooperated with police.
A portion of Barter’s Hill was closed for a while as police investigated the incident.
