Police seize firearms, explosive materials from two homes
A police investigation lead to the search of two residences, resulting in an arrest and the seizure of firearms, explosive materials and a prohibited weapon.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s Weapons and Drug Enforcement Unit (WDEU), with the assistance of the RNC Tactics and Rescue Unit, and RCMP and RNC Explosives Disposal Units, searched two homes on Tuesday (Dec. 2) and Wednesday (Dec. 3) in Southlands and St. Vincent’s. The two searches resulted in the seizure of:
- Multiple Firearms
- Ammunition and magazines
- A prohibited weapon
31-year-old Nathan Fleming, was arrested on scene and appeared in court yesterday (Dec. 3), for charges of Trafficking Weapons, Possession for the Purpose of Weapons Trafficking, Unlawful Transfer of a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, with further charges pending. The investigation is ongoing.
