Motor Registration text message scam
The province is advising the public of a fraudulent text message regarding motor registration services that is circulating within the province.
The text message instructs the recipient to click a link and reset their password in order to receive a refund related to a vehicle registration.
The provincial government does not communicate information about vehicle registration through text message. Recipients are encouraged to forward the message to 7726. That will alert your cellular provider to open an investigation on the contents of the message.
