Police carries out enforcement in Twillingate, three vehicles seized and impounded
Over a two-hour period on Wednesday, RCMP Traffic Services Central impounded three vehicles in Twillingate and issued a number of tickets under the province’s Highway Traffic Act.
On September 17, at approximately 11:30 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Main Street in Twillingate. The driver, a 59-year-old Durrell man, was operating his vehicle with an expired plate and without insurance. He was ticketed for the operating his vehicle without a valid insurance policy. His vehicle was seized and impounded.
Approximately 20 minutes later, another driver was stopped on Main Street. A 70-year-old Boyd’s Cove man was operating his vehicle without an insurance policy. He was also driving without a valid driver’s licence, which had been previously suspended. He was ticketed for both offences, his driver’s licence was further suspended, and his vehicle was seized and impounded.
That afternoon, at approximately 1:23 p.m., police stopped a motorcycle on Main Street and discovered that the operator, a 69-year-old Twillingate man, was riding without registration or insurance. He was ticketed for those offences, and his bike was seized and impounded.
