Police investigating assault in centre of St. John’s

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is looking for help from the public following an assault in the centre of St. John’s.

Just after 12:30 a.m. today, Operational Patrol Services responded to the area of Salisbury Street where a man was located with serious injuries.

The Major Crime Unit is working to determine what happened and is looking to speak to any witnesses and obtain video footage (CCTV, dash-camera, cell phone) from the area encompassing Newtown Road, Salisbury Street, Cairo Street and Empire Avenue between 10 p.m. yesterday (June 16) and 1 a.m. today (June 17).
