The RNC attempted to stop a vehicle on Bonaventure Avenue in St John’s on Tuesday evening when officers noticed the driver had an arrest warrant in effect.

When officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle fled from police.

Officers located and arrested a 20-year-old man and he was charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a vehicle and breach of a release order.

The driver did not have valid insurance and was a suspended driver. He also owed over $13,000 in outstanding fines.

The accused was taken to the city lock-up.
