On Sunday evening RNC officers were called to a residence in the center city area of St John’s to a request for a wellness check.
Police spoke to the complainant and to the female in question.
The 14-year-old female then proceeded to assault the officer, the youth was arrested and charged with assaulting a peace officer and was held to appear in court.
