An RNC officer on patrol in the downtown area of St John’s overnight observed a vehicle strike a parking post outside a hotel resulting in minor damage.

When the officer spoke with the driver he believed the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

The 33-year-old woman was taken for a breathalyzer and later released.

The incident is still under investigation. In the meantime, she was issued a seven-day driving suspension and her vehicle was seized.
