Replica of Danger Tree to be presented at Beaumont Hamel today
One hundred and ten years after Beaumont-Hamel, we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice and loss made by a generation of Newfoundlanders and Labradoreans.
Today, Tuesday, June 30, an event is being held in the Bruneau Centre for Research & Innovation Inco Theatre to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme and Beaumont-Hamel.
There will be a live stream of commemorative events taking place in France, including the unveiling of a new replica of the iconic Danger Tree, a lasting symbol of remembrance for the Newfoundland Regiment.
As a living memorial to those who served, Memorial University honours their legacy and ensure their stories continue to be remembered.
