Travel plans for WestJet passengers might be up in the air… this comes after the union representing WestJet pilots issued a 72-hour strike notice on Monday evening.

Local airline passenger rights advocate Woodrow French says there are a number of things travellers need to be prepared for, including being delayed on a connecting flight, or flights being cancelled all together.

St. John’s International Airport released a statement on the potential strike.

“St. John’s International Airport values its partnerships with each of our airlines.  We are closely following the current potential labor situation facing our WestJet/Swoop partners.  Passengers are asked to check directly with their respective airline to understand any potential travel impacts.”
