Traffic changes expected on Roaches Line due to construction

News, Traffic

Drivers are being advised of traffic changes on Roaches Line as construction work is set to begin next week.

Crews will be working in the area starting Monday, April 13, with traffic control measures expected to remain in place until Aug. 31.

Exit 31 from the eastbound Trans-Canada Highway to Routes 70 and 75 northbound (Roaches Line) will be closed during this time. Drivers are asked to follow posted detour signs via Brigus Junction to access the route.

Vehicles exiting Mahers Cabin Access Road will not be allowed to turn left onto Routes 70 and 75 northbound. A detour through Brigus Junction will be in place.

Drivers travelling from Routes 70 and 75 southbound to the Trans-Canada Highway eastbound may also encounter alternating single-lane traffic at the Roaches Line underpass. Access will be maintained, but delays are possible.

Motorists are asked to obey posted signage, slow down in work zones and allow extra time for travel.
