Brad Gushue and his celebrated team ended the season on a winning note Sunday, winning their 15th Grand Slam title. Gushue made a single in the eighth end as his St. John’s-based rink beat the top-ranked Italians 7-6 to win the Princess Auto Players Championship.
It’s the first time they’ve won the Players Championship since way back in 2016.
It caps off a historic season for team Gushue. The rink won a sixth national Brier Championship last month, and made a brilliant run at the world championship last week, claiming silver.
