Stephenville Dome named Newfoundland and Labrador’s Kraft Hockeyville winner

News, Sports

The Stephenville Dome has been named the provincial winner for Kraft Hockeyville 2026, earning $50,000 for arena upgrades.

The announcement was made Saturday on Hockey Night in Canada, with 13 provincial and territorial winners named across the country as part of the competition’s 20th year.

Kraft Hockeyville is a national program run by Kraft Heinz in partnership with the NHL and the NHL Players’ Association. Communities submit nominations detailing the importance of their local rink, and winners are chosen based on community spirit, the arena’s local significance and how the funding would be put to use.

The Stephenville Dome now advances to the next round, where the top two finalists from across the country will be announced March 21. Canadians will then vote online at KraftHockeyville.ca from April 3 to 4 to decide the national winner.

The winning community will receive $250,000 for rink upgrades and will host an NHL pre-season game. The runner-up will receive $100,000.
