Regiment host Armada tonight in Game 3 of QMJHL playoff series

News, Sports

The NL Regiment are back on home ice tonight after picking up a series split in Quebec. The Regiment dropped a 5-3 decision to the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada in Game 2. Newfoundland controlled the play early Friday night, taking a 3-1 lead into the second period. Hometown star rookie Ben Veitch scored his fifth goal of these playoffs, as did captain and team leading scorer Justin Larose. However, the Armada stormed back, scoring four unanswered goals.
Newfoundland opened the series with a 4-1. Two hockey worlds collide in the series, as the Armada’s roots are connected to the St. John’s Fog Devils, which relocated to the Montreal region almost two decades ago. That franchise is now the Armada.

Newfoundland won their opening round series over Cape Breton in six games, while the Armada swept Victoriaville to advance.

Game 3 is set for 7 p.m. tonight at Mary Brown’s Centre.
