NL Regiment went big on home ice; securing third overall in a standings
The Newfoundland Regiment defeated the Halifax Mooseheads 6-1 on Friday in front of a full house at Mary Brown’s Centre.
Rookie Ben Veitch, the team’s top pick in last summer’s entry draft, scored his 11th goal to start the scoring.
The win secured for the third place ewfoundland Regiment heading into the final weekend of the QMJHL regular season.
It has been an incredible inaugural season for the Regiment. They have not only made an impact on the ice, but at the gate as well, ranking among the best attendance numbers in the league this season. The club is averaging almost 5,100 fans per game, on pace to break a league record.
The teams are back in action tonight at Mary Brown’s Centre.
