This month (June 2025), Bay Roberts and Harbour Grace RCMP have responded to a number of commercial break and enters in the Trinity Conception area. 

These crimes have been occurring at gas stations and convenience stores throughout the area. Motor vehicles are being used during the commission of most of these crimes; however, the use of off-road vehicles has also been confirmed.

Various items have been stolen, including lottery tickets and other merchandise. The lottery tickets are largely comprised of break-open or pull-tab tickets. RCMP is aware of individuals attempting to redeem a large quantity of winning break-open tickets and are asking business owners to be mindful of this activity and to report suspicious activities.

RCMP NL asks the public to remain vigilant of suspicious activities or vehicle presence around commercial properties, especially during the early morning hours. Business owners are asked to secure their properties, including desirable items such as cash, cigarettes and lottery tickets. Additionally, property owners are encouraged to consider the installation of security cameras in and around the property.
