UPDATE: Two men charged with murder, police hunt for third after latest suspicious death in St. John’s
Police have charged two men with the murder in St. John’s while an arrest warrant has been issued for a third.
On Dec. 21, the RNC responded to a home on Empire Avenue where officers found a man dead inside. Working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the death was determined to be a homicide. The identification of the deceased is still unknown.
Police have now arrested 42-year-old Darryl Little and 28-year-old Peter Campbell and charged them with murder. They are being held to appear in court today.
Campbell was arrested yesterday at about 10:30 p.m. at a residence on Rotary Drive with the help of the RNC Tactical Response Unit and the RCMP Emergency Response Team. He has been charged with murder, a number of firearms related offences, disguise with intent, and breaches of a firearm prohibition order and court orders.
Little was arrested today at 12 a.m. at a residence on Druken Crescent with the help of the RNC TRU and RCMP ERT. He has been charged with murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and breaching a court order.

Meanwhile, police are also searching for Douglas Yetman (1978-05-10) who is wanted for the same murder.
The ongoing investigation resulted in the RNC requesting a warrant for the arrest of 47-year-old Douglas Yetman of St. John’s, on the following charges:
- Murder
- Disguised with Intent
- Using a Firearm in the Commission of an Offence
- Carelessly using a Firearm
- Pointing a Firearm
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Vehicle
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Breaches of a Court Order and Firearm Prohibition Order
The incident does not appear to have been random; however, the RNC believe Yetman is armed and dangerous. The RNC is advising the public not to approach Yetman, and to report any possible sightings directly to police.
Yetman is described as about 6’3” tall, weighing approximately 170 punds and has blue eyes. He is missing a partial finger and has faded forearm tattoos.
Anyone with information or video footage (CCTV, dash camera, cell phone) is asked to contact the RNC at 709-729-8000. The investigative team can also be reached directly by email at: report@rnc.gov.nl.ca.
