Tentative deal may push off potential WestJet mechanics union strike
After the airline announced a 72-hour lockout on Saturday, a potential strike between WestJet and its mechanics union appears to have been avoided.
The Calgary-based airline says a tentative deal between it and the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association has been agreed upon.
A ratified contract would mark the first approved collective bargaining agreement between WestJet and AMFA.
