St. John’s Metro schools open today following days of closures due to snow cleanup
Schools in the St. John’s Metro region have reopened today, after a number of closures as snow cleanup efforts continued.
‘In consultation with busing contractors, there have been improvements with clean up over the last 24 hours thanks to the work of municipal and contracted snow clearing. Buses are anticipated to begin their runs at the usual times. Everyone is asked to be patient and safe travelling the roadways and to be extra vigilant around snow banks and residential areas.’
Parents are encouraged to keep safety in mind and assess neighborhood conditions before sending children to the bus stop.
In addition, families are asked to speak with their children to advise them not to play in any snowbanks near bus stops, roadways, or school sites.
