Some big-name Canadiens stars to join Alex Newhook for his third annual golf tournament on Aug. 4
One of Newfoundland and Labrador’s biggest summer sports fundraisers is back, and once again, Montreal Canadiens forward Alex Newhook is bringing plenty of star power with him.
The third annual Alex Newhook Golf Classic tees off August 4th at Bally Haly Country Club in St. John’s. Joining Newhook this year are Canadiens teammates Jayden Struble, Jakub Dobes, Arber and Florian Xhekaj, Kaiden Guhle, along with Habs legend Chris Nilan.
The tournament supports four local charities: the Cancer Care Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador, Iris Kirby House, REAL Program, and KidSport, helping families facing cancer, supporting women and children, promoting recovery, and giving more kids the chance to play sports.
Last year’s event raised more than 120-thousand dollars, and with even more Canadiens making the trip this summer, it’s another sign of the close bond this young Montreal team has built—on and off the ice.
