Severe wind leaves thousands without power
Newfoundland Power has been busy dealing with multiple power outages caused by severe winds.
The utility says overnight, at peak, approximately 17,000 customers were without power. This morning that number was down to 4400.
Newfoundland Power says crews continue to respond where and when it is safe to do so. Residents are being reminded to stay clear of downed power lines, and watch our outage centre for updates.
