SaltWater Community Association hosts equity discussion in St. John’s
The SaltWater Community Association is inviting the public to join a community conversation about fairness and inclusion next week.
The event, called “Equity in Action,” takes place Thursday, March 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bruneau Centre for Research and Innovation at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Innovation Hall, Room IIC 2001. Free parking is available in Lot 1A.
Organizers say the evening will bring together community members, advocates and anyone interested in discussing how equity affects everyday life. Equity refers to the idea that people should have fair access to opportunities and resources.
Attendees will be encouraged to share their own experiences, listen to others and take part in an open discussion about fairness and inclusion in their communities.
The association says the event is meant to give people a chance to reflect on personal experiences and work toward positive change through conversation.
Community members, students and organizations are welcome to attend.
