Roddickton RCMP charges suspected impaired driver for refusing to provide sample
RCMP officers in Roddickton arrested a 64-year-old woman on Saturday afternoon after responding to a call about a possible drug-impaired driver. On June 13, shortly after 2:00 p.m., police responded to a report of a driver that appeared to be using cannabis inside a vehicle parked outside a building on Majors Street. Police located the vehicle and observed signs of cannabis use, and the driver – a 64-year-old woman – was taken into custody. A search of the vehicle located paraphernalia consistent with cannabis use.
The woman was provided with a demand for a blood sample to confirm impairment by drugs, and declined to do so. She was charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand, and released from custody to appear in court in August 2026. In addition, her driver’s licence was suspended.
