RNC stop several people for impaired driving in metro
Police made multiple arrests over the weekend for impaired driving. Officers made a stop on MacDonald Drive in St. John’s. The 40 year old male driver was under the influence of alcohol and placed under
arrest for impaired driving. After further investigation the driver was charged with; impaired
operation and over .80. Officers also stopped a vehicle in the area of Topsail Road and
Cowan Ave. Upon officers suspecting that the 58 year old male driver was under the influence
of alcohol, he was provided an alcohol screening device. As a result, the male registered a
warning and received a 7 day driving suspension. Police also responded to a report of a possible impaired driver in the area of Leslie Street. Upon officers suspecting that the 29-year-old male driver was under the
influence of alcohol. He registered a warning and received a 7 day driving suspension. His vehicle was impounded.
