RNC size multiple vehicles in the Corner Brook region

Justice, News

The RNC seized a number of vehicles in the Corner Brook Region over the weekend.

From Feb. 20 to Feb. police seized numerous vehicles from drivers who were operating over the limit as prescribed by the Highway Traffic Act.

Within a one-hour period Sunday, Feb. 22, three drivers ages 27, 33 and 36, all had their licences suspended following roadside screening in the early morning hours.

On Saturday, Feb. 21 a traffic stop on Broadway led to a seven-day driving suspension for a 21-year-old after he provided a roadside sample indicating he had consumed alcohol. By law, drivers under 22 years of age must maintain a zero blood alcohol level while driving.

On Friday, Feb. 20, around 1:30 a.m., officers conducted a traffic safety stop on Main Street that resulted in a 23-year-old being charged with impaired driving and refusal. His driver’s license was suspended and vehicle seized. He was released to appear in court at a later date.

Two other weekend drivers, aged 30 and 38, also faced license suspensions and had their vehicles towed after roadside screening tests.
