RNC Arrest Pair Believed to be Planning Armed Robbery
Wednesday, January 28th around 3pm, RNC arrested wanted 38-year old Julian Squires in the west end of St. John’s. During the arrest, he was found to be in possession of a prohibited weapon and ammunition, resulting in additional charges. Emily Vaughan was also arrested at the scene on an outstanding warrant. The 39-year old also received additional charges after it was discovered that she provided police with a false name.
A search of the vehicle they were in uncovered a bag containing items that led police to believe the pair were planning an armed robbery. An investigation was launched, and on January 29th, both were charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Squires was also charged with disguise with intent. Both will appear in court today.
