RNC arrest male for assaults

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) arrested a male following assaults in St. John’s.

On Thursday, April 9 around 7 p.m., police responded to an altercation at a business in the centre city area of St. John’s. Information received was that a male had a weapon and assaulted two people. The suspect had fled the area prior to police arrival.

As the result of an investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division, Tyler Reid was arrested on Saturday (April 11). He has been charged with:

  • Two counts of Assault
  • Two counts of Assault with a Weapon
  • Uttering Threats
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

The 33-year-old was held to appear in court. He was also arrested on an unrelated warrant for being unlawfully at large.

There were no injuries reported.
