RCMP stop excessive speeder on Trans-Canada Highway
RCMP Traffic Services West pulled over a 29‑year‑old driver on Wednesday after he was caught excessively speeding on the Trans‑Canada Highway, leaving him without both his vehicle and his licence.
Shortly before 3:30 p.m. on January 14, 2026, an officer observed a vehicle travelling more than 50 km/hr over the limit in a 100 km/hr zone on the Trans-Canada Highway near Baie Verte Junction.
RCMP stopped the driver, and he was ticketed for excessive speeding. His license was suspended, and the vehicle was impounded.
