RCMP lays charge of assault with a weapon after bear spray incident
A 23-year-old woman was arrested by Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP on Sunday in relation to an assault with a weapon.
Just before 8:00 p.m. on Jan. 18, police responded to a report of an assault in the community of Grand Falls-Windsor. The victim had been bear sprayed and was taken to the hospital for medical treatment and care. Their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
The incident was isolated in nature with no risk to public safety.
Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP located and arrested a 23-year-old woman in connection to the assault.
She was later released from police custody on strict conditions. She is expected to make her first appearance in provincial court on March 18, 2026, to answer to a charge of assault with a weapon.
